Donna J. Boeve, age 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Donna was born on January 10, 1929, the daughter of Nelson and Geneva Kragt.
Donna graduated from Holland High School. In September of 1950, she married the love of her life, Clarence (Con) Boeve. Along with her husband, Donna was a member of Central Avenue Christian Reformed Church where she was active on various committees and assisted with Bible School.
Donna enjoyed traveling with her husband, which included trips to various European countries, as well as numerous vacations throughout the United States. She thoroughly enjoyed watching lake activities, and the beauty of all God's creation.
A lifetime resident of Holland, Donna was involved in the Women's Literary Guild and volunteered at Holland Hospital.
Although dementia claimed her memory later in life, she continued to recognize her family and experienced joy in seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donna was a woman of strong integrity who set a wonderful example for her family. She was a source of strength and quiet support to all those she loved.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband Con, in 2013. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Earl Kragt, Roger Kragt, Cornelius Kragt and sister, Barbara Altena.
She is lovingly remembered by her children; Brian and Jodi Boeve and Cynthia and Kirk Wright; her grandchildren, Nicole and Lance Kuipers; Nathaniel and Christina Boeve, Aaron and Tiffanie Boeve, Andrea and Michael Stam, Derek and Julie Wright, Sarah Draeger, Elizabeth and Chris Gunnink; and fourteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Marvin and Nancy Kragt and Norma Van Loo; sisters-in-law Hazel Kragt, Phyllis Kragt, Bev Kragt, Cora Dykema, and brothers-in-law, Homer Barber and Eddie Barber.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2015 at Central Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 259 Central Ave. Holland with Rev. James H. Scholten officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. Memorial contributions may be given to Central Ave. CRC or Resthaven Care Community.
